Rainbow Favorites-- Pink!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  I'm sad to say it's the last day in the Rainbow Week Challenge, but I'm happy it ends with PINK!!!  Pinks are my favorite!!  I have two to share with you today along with some black & white glitter topcoats.  First I'll be sharing my current favorite pink: SpaRitual Camellia..
***PICTURE HEAVY***
SpaRitual Camellia:

Camellia is a pretty "pepto" pink as I like to call it.  It's from SpaRitual's Summer 2012 Pigment Collection.  I love the color of Camellia, but application wasn't the greatest.  Although it's highly pigmented, Camellia goes on too thin for my liking and after three coats, you can still see bald spots close to my cuticles. :(  After I applied Colorblind by Dandy Nails, things started to look up..

Dandy Nails Colorblind over Camellia:

Colorblind is my favorite black and white indie polish.  I love it's simplicity...no shimmer, no bar glitter, just medium sized black and white hex!  Only one coat was needed.. I love that in a glitter!!!  Colorblind looks awesome over almost any color.  Another Indie I'm in love with!!  Colorblind by Dandy Nails can be purchased here on their Etsy store.

So, I've saved my all-time favorite pink for last.  I did a post on this one last October when I first started this blog.  (Oh my, those pics were bad LOL).  Here it is again..  Lex Cosmetics Sassy Pants..

Lex Cosmetics Sassy Pants:

This pink is absolutely stunning!  It was my favorite back in October and it remains my favorite today!! :)  Sassy Pants is a rich berry creme that dries with amazing shine!  Pictured above is two coats without top coat.  Flawless application, perfect color for me!! Sassy Pants and many other amazing colors can be purchased here.  I almost didn't top this one with a black and white glitter, but I had this post all planned out to show two black and whites, so I followed through with the plan..

All That Glitters Diamond Rug over Sassy Pants:

After looking at these two pictures, I'm happy I topped Sassy Pants with Diamond Rug by All That Glitters! Diamond Rug has black and white diamond shaped glitter in a clear base.  It's simple like Colorblind and I love this one also.  I did have to "dig" a bit to get enough glitter on the brush.  Pictured above is two coats followed by Cult Nails Wicked Fast topcoat.  You can purchase Diamond Rug here on their Etsy store. ( I highly recommend Cha Cha Twist too!)

**There you have it, Kids..  the Rainbow Favorites Challenge is over.    Thanks to Bec at Lacquer Dreams for creating this fun challenge!!**

  • Rainbow Favorites-- Purple!! A Leopard Print

Happy Friday Kids!!  This week has gone by quickly for me.  Maybe it's because I'm enjoying all these "Rainbow Favorites" posts!! :)  Today is "Purple Day."  I've been trying to incorporate more nail art with these posts, so today I decided to try a Leopard Print Mani.  Once again, I followed a tutorial by Sarah at Chalkboard Nails.  Sarah's tutorials are so easy to follow.. she speaks slowly and clearly and simplifies each step... plus, there's no annoying "porno music" playing in the background. ;)

Again, I chose three colors from China Glaze..Sweet Hook, Spontaneous, and Urban-Night.

    Purple Leopard Print:

For this leopard print, I started with two coats of Sweet Hook, then used the small end of a dotting tool and applied the "print" with Spontaneous and Urban-Night.  I have about ten dotting tools, and although I used the small end, I should have picked a tool with a smaller end because this print looks kinda "crammed together."  I am pleased with the final result and I was so surprised  how easy it was.  I'll definitely try this again!!

I'll see you tomorrow with the last post for this challenge-- PINK!!!!!

Rainbow Favorites-- Blue! A Needle Marble

Happy Thursday Everyone!  Today I usually post my "Weekly Water Marble", but today I have something a little different--  A Needle Marble!!  My first one!  Today is also "blue day" in Lacquer Dreams' Rainbow Week Challenge.  Once again, I couldn't choose just one blue, so I did this need marble with three beautiful blue China Glaze polishes..

A Blue China Glaze Needle Marble:
I chose For Audrey, Shower Together, and Blue Iguana

Yep, I'm gonna stick with what I know-- water marbling!!  lol.  This needle marble was thick and goopy.  Granted, it was my first, but water marbling is my "thing", so I'll just stick with that. :)  To achieve this look, I painted one coat of For Audrey to each nail.  After that dried, I got all my polishes ready, applied a 2nd coat of For Audrey to one nail at a time, immediately after the 2nd coat (while it's still wet), I added a few drops of Shower Together and Blue Iguana then swirled all the polish together with a pin.  The only nail I really like is my index finger.  I think I added too much Blue Iguana (it was kinda runny anyway).  Someday I will try this again with thicker cremes and smaller drops of polish.

See you tomorrow for "purple day."

Rainbow Favorites-- Green. A Zoya Gradient

Hey Everyone! Today is "green day" in Lacquer Dreams' Rainbow Week Challenge.  I've really been liking some Zoya Greens lately, so I decided to feature them in this gradient..

    A Green Zoya Gradient:
I chose Tracie, Meg, and Ivanka

    Indoors- indirect light

    direct sunlight

    direct sunlight
Such a sparkly gradient!!  It's so pretty, but clean-up was a nightmare!!  I should have taped around my nails like I do before a water marble.  You can still see some shimmery flecks on my skin after intense clean-up.  lol.  I used Tracie as the base color, then I sponged on the gradient with Meg and Ivanka.  After it was completely dry, I added two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Dugan hung out with me while I was outside taking pics :)

Rainbow Favorites-- Yellow. A Ruffle Mani..

Hey Everyone it's Day # 3 in Lacquer Dreams' Rainbow Week Challenge.  Today's color is yellow.  I really don't have a favorite yellow.  It's a color I wouldn't likely wear alone, but I do use yellow a lot in my water marbles and any other nail art I may attempt.  Here is the yellow I chose to feature today..

    China Glaze Sunshine Pop:

Sunshine Pop truly is a "sunshine yellow".  It's bright and shimmery just like the classic "rainbow yellow."  Pictured above is two coats of Sunshine Pop.  It's not quite a creme, not quite a shimmer.  It's a great color for nail art.  That's why I chose it as my base in the following ruffle mani..

    Ruffle Mani:

Once again, I followed a tutorial by Sarah at Chalkboard Nails.  Sarah's tutorials are amazing.  For this ruffle manicure, you just start with a base, then use the large end of a dotting tool and layer on the ruffles.

Here is a list of all the polishes I used:
    China Glaze Sunshine Pop
    Essie Fear or Desire
    Zoya Lara
    Zoya Snow White
    Zoya Mira
    Essie Mojito Madness
    SpaRitual Camellia
    and OPI Planks A lot
This challenge really is so much fun!!  I will see you tomorrow with green!!

    Rainbow Favorites-- ORANGE!! KBShimmer Orange-A-Peel

Happy Monday!!  It's day #2 in the Rainbow Favorites Week Challenge.  Today's color is orange and I chose my newest orange indie... KBShimmer Orange-A-Peel..

    KBShimmer Orange-A-Peel:
    cute bottles :)

KB Shimmer Orange-A-Peel is: "a neon orange polish with white bar glitter, white hex glitters in several sizes, pink metallic glitters, pink matte glitters and orange glitters."  I absolutely love this polish! I love everything about it ..from the neon orange base, to the mix of glitters, to the flawless application etc..  I really could go on forever about Orange-A-Peel!  I now own three polishes from KBShimmer, but I definitely plan on picking up many more!!  Pictured above is three coats of Orange-A-Peel, followed by a coat of Gelous, then a quick coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry.  I honestly can't say enough great things about this polish (and I usually don't care for oranges)!!

    ****Warning:  FEET PIC BELOW****

I'm currently wearing Orange-A-Peel on my toes. :)  This is two coats over Essie Fear or Desire-- L.O.V.E. it!!

**Be sure to like KBShimmer here on their facebook page (they sell bath and body products also)**
**You can purchase KBShimmer Polishes here for $8.50 a bottle**
